All bar one of these images are from buildings that have looked the way they do for as long as I’ve lived in Brisbane… and that’s eight years! To be honest, the odd one out could have looked that way, too – but I haven’t seen it before. I’ve only photographed one of these spots previously, and it was a lousy attempt, if I remember correctly! In hindsight, I’m pretty sure I missed so many things last year because I was looking for them just a little bit too hard. And now – I’ve taken a step back, wandered around… and in this case, drove around the block three times. I’m walking more… actually looking to see what’s there, and not just pulling up when something big and bold catches my eye. Driving and trying to find places to photograph gives me a sore head – and I’m surprised I haven’t had an accident!
