5:35pm, Brendale: Day 88 ~ I think I actually made some sort of ridiculous squeal of excitement when I first saw this – maybe ask my poor husband? (Actually, don’t – he might respond with something along the lines of ‘which time?!) How awesome is that red vs yellow?! I like being able to partially see inside the windows – I wonder what that red thing is in the top left? One of my favourite buildings for the year, for sure.
4:46pm, Coorparoo: Day 90 ~ This is an odd one – I don’t quite understand the point of having a fence in front of a wall like that! I once heard someone refer to a very symmetrical photo as a ‘4 corner hold your breath precision crop’ – this was definitely one of those. I tried so hard to get this lined up properly, and I was so proud of myself when I ended up with this! Try it some time… It’s not always that easy!
2:29pm, Geebung: Day 55 ~ This was taken early on in the piece, and it is still one of my favourite images. My drive that day was the sort where I soon learnt I needed some form of tracking software to help me work out where on earth I had been and where on earth my photo had been taken! I tend to drive in circles, down dead end streets and pretty much all over the place, so it actually took another drive (weeks later!) to work out where this was. I love the blue wall and the contrast it has with the peeling paint on the door, and I’m intrigued why there’s a pipe around the door handle…
1:08pm, Roma St: Day 169 ~ While I’ve been choosing and posting these ‘extras’, I quite often start to write ‘I love this one!’ – but I then have to remind myself about the fact that’s the entire reason I’m posting them! The reflection in this is what makes it for me – really, it’s just a brick wall with a window. How riveting. Mind you… most of my images could be described like that! Wall with door. Shadow on fence. Paint on concrete. Graffiti on brick. Reflection on building. Nice one, Anni… you sure do take some complicated photographs!
1:07pm, Toowoomba: Day 160 ~ Apart from the colour (who could miss that!) the thing that drew me to this place was the windows. I don’t understand them! Why would you have two vertically stacked ones, and then two horizontal ones? Was the building extended? Why do two of them have vertical bars in them, and the other two have something horizontal at the top? It’s a bit odd, really. I love the green grass, too – and the one lonely yellow flower. There’s a million (I’m a tad prone to exaggeration sometimes) photos that I still want to take, and there’s one directly opposite this. One day…
