…and here ends the Toowoomba collection! I haven’t been taking a whole lot of photos lately, but don’t worry… I made up for that this morning, so there’s definitely no immediate end to the hundreds of images you’ll find here. Incidentally – I’ve clocked up more than 500 ‘newbies’ – and considering it is September, goodness only knows how many I will have by the end of the year (especially bearing in mind I had no computer / took very few in Jan-Feb-Mar). I thought last year was huge… I may be in trouble at the end of 2014. Don’t care, they make me happy… and I have lots of hard drive space! You gotta do what your heart wants to do, right?!
Photo number 2 (or the one that should be titled #3, whichever way you want to look at it!) is the Toowoomba location I’ve wanted to take a photo of for AGES. It mightn’t seem like anything special to you, but once I have an image in my head it will stick there (and give me a not so gentle nudge every now and then to remind me) until I’ve actually taken it. Just in case you were wondering what happens if I don’t take a photo before the place changes… I will then think of that photo I wanted to take every single time I drive/walk/go past and every single time I drive/walk/go past I will mentally kick myself for not making the effort… the first time. Trust me, there’s a few of those, and it’s a mighty vicious cycle. The whole regret thing (and the process of avoiding it!) certainly makes me do some strange things.
…or, in this case – more like before/after/after. I drive past this place every day and it has been interesting watching the progression the building has gone through. That said… WHY HAVE THEY NOT FIXED THE MISSING SLAT?! Or fixed up the dodgy part of the awning (top left)? Why paint it and make it look beautiful but not go that one extra step and fix the thing while they were at it?! I’m willing to bet it could just possibly be one of those ‘not in my job description’ moments. Nonetheless, it annoys me. Can you tell?!
Here I was thinking that I was getting towards the tail end of my Toowoomba collection… nope! Still a few more to go. Firstly, let me draw your attention to the shadow across the red door on this first photo, and how it cuts out at the top – how cool is that?! There’s a reflection coming from a window above the door (you can see it on the brick and the bin) that’s adding in some extra light and removing the shadow… I love it.
I’ve been a bit slack with collections… and there’s really only two reasons: they take longer, and it also means I’ve actually got to finish my keywording. I’m pretty sure anyone who has needed to do bulk keywords (or data entry) before can relate! Rubbish bins are a bit odd – somehow they’re not the most desirable of things, but they’re strangely photogenic.
